Blockstream Jade Question

I am using blockstream jade with current firmware. set it up for "device only". Moved a test amount to it. confirmed on the ios Green app. But i can only use the Green app when i have my jade with me, is that correct? Also, is there a way to have a sync between the ios app and the device? I didn't want to create a new wallet if i don't have to.
