Can Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin co-exist as successful projects?

My impression from most of you is that we are fighting a war that can only be won by defeating Bitcoin. Are we fighting some sort of Dave vs Goliath story, which can only be won by eliminating Bitcoin? Or is my impression wrong and we can actually co-exist amicably? I like Bitcoin Cash and I believe it's better technology, but clearly, our shit stinks too.
