don't understand how to get currency in my btc wallet

I just downloaded uphold, because I'm trying to buy something from another continent. They only accept btc or crypto so I downloaded uphold. I'm having a hard time getting it into my wallet. Could anybody please help me out with getting btc into my uphold btc wallet?
