For many people, Bitcoin is a source of endless shame and regret. Even if you embrace it now, it’s really difficult to come to terms with what could have been.

I’m coming up on 11 years since I purchased my first coins. I started hearing about it in the summer of 2013 and as it started ramping up again later that year, I desperately sold my piano in time to buy a few hundred bitcoins “before it was too late”.

Fast forward to now and of course I don’t have my original stash locked away. It’s been 11 years of a wild ride of so many ups and downs.

My story is just one of thousands of similar variations. And so it’s always a paradox. Bitcoin brings me hope, but it’s also been a source of so much shame and regret for not holding onto my original position.

I’m not sure I’ll ever get over that.
