How do you explain how bitcoin is created and where it exists

I have had many people who don’t understand bitcoin, ask how me how it is this magically produced thing floating in thin air. When I start talking about a SHA-256 algorithm, energy conversion to mining rigs solving algorithm etc, they instantly appear uninterested. How do you simply explain this to someone in one sentence?

I’m not talking about explaining why it has value, it’s more answering the basic disbelief and confusion of how it’s made.
