How does Bison's spread on Bitcoin work?

I recently bought a very small amount of Bitcoin to see how Bison works. The spread is 1.25%, so I thought I would start with a 1.25% loss. However, I am down 2.45%, and the price has hardly changed. Can someone explain the difference?
