How many days of a front page full of upset users before action is taken on unwanted moderators OR will "free speech" become "unless you dislike mods"?

We've actually been through this before. In the Blocksize War, /r/Bitcoin became permanently front page clogged with "When blocksize increase?" and soon enough "Why can't we discuss blocksize increases?" and "What's going on with the censorship?" and eventually "Please remove and change mods", until finally the mass bannings came into effect.

For the last 12 hours or so, the /r/btc frontpage has been essentially only posts complaining about the change in moderators, with every thread full of upvoted posts complaining that this is not what the community wants.

Given that network effect is hard to shift, it will likely stay this way unless action is taken to correct course. Everyone who is already discussing here will just continue to want to discuss why the discussion has been ruined.

The only alternative to a change back towards where things started, is for the "free speech" advocates / mods to begin hypocritically censoring meta posts discussing why mods were changed despite huge community outcry. This was the path Theymos chose.
