How to hold Bitcoin when retiring.

I have an older friend who has a single bitcoin.

He removed it from Coinbase and got a trevor and a piece of paper with his secret codes years ago.

He is retiring and plans on moving out of the country in retirement.

He feels uneasy having a piece of paper in his pocket that is so valuable going on a plane to a new place that could get stolen. And he is not certain of his living situation when he gets there and feels uncomfortable keeping it in an apartment in another country.

He doesn't know what the best way to hold his bitcoin when he doesn't feel comfortable with self-custody.
