I sold - I'm out for now

Since 2014 I have been DCA'ing $100-$500 monthly into just BTC. Never caring about the price. The same day, every month, for the past 10 years.

Earlier this week I sold it all.

When I started accumulating BTC, I was a different person. My wife and I had only been dating for about 6 months then. I was still in college, living in an apartment with 3 other roommates, working a decent job making enough to pay the bills and have a little left over for myself and to put away into BTC.

Next week, my wife and I close on our dream home that we will immediately own over 80% of with enough room for our current two children plus more when we're ready. My kids will be going to the best schools in our city. Because of our massive down payment, our COL will only be roughly 10-20% of our income.

When it's all said and done though I'll be back.

Yes, I sold it all. 100%. I never thought of BTC in terms of raw dollars I only looked at the sats and what it could get me (which probably contradicts my first statement, but in my head it was different). My wife and I were out growing our current place and our kids will be starting school soon so we started looking at homes and school zones.

Sure, If I had held longer, maybe we'd own 100% of the place. Or maybe even a larger place (not always better). Or Maybe we'd even own 100% of the house and never work again. There are endless possibilities for what the future would have held.

In the end, I had to make a judgement call. Trade in my 10yr stack for a place where my kids can grow and have the best opportunities, and live comfortably knowing that either me or my wife could lose our jobs and we still wouldn't struggle, or continue to hold hoping that my stack gets my into an even better position later on (which it would have of course).

I decided that the life BTC could get me right now was good enough for me and my family and traded it in.
