If I buy bitcoin for 10.000 USD, will it be something smart?

Hi friends! Firstly I wanna say that my knowledge about the crypto world is zero. All I know is that people who bought bitcoin in the past made huge amount of profits and they actually got rich.

Did we (people who never bought any cryptocurrency) miss the train? What are your thoughts?

I am planning to buy bitcoin for 10.000 USD and I don’t plan to touch it at all. If it increases, it will be awesome for my kids. If I lose it all, it will make me sad for sometime but I will move on.
