If you have time on your side, is bitcoin a better investment than traditional pension scheme?

Need to invest c£500k which is to fund the latter years of my retirement. Can easily leave this in place for 10 years +

I have much more confidence in the upside potential in bitcoin, but to those who have a deeper understanding, how likely is it that the wheels completely fall of this thing?
