Large purchase

So is Coinbase pro not a solid option for buying a large amount of Bitcoin? I have an account with them but I’m not so sure I should trust them. Is there a better exchange? I don’t care as much about the fees as I do the security and ability to self custody in a day or 2 and not have to wait to transfer to my trezor. Suggestions?
