Looking for a little catch up on the BCH ecosystem the last couple years. Including the upcoming adaptive block size change.

I've followed the space on and off for a few years. I was more actively following during the 2017 hard fork. I saw Kimdotcom X post today about an "innovation" coming in May called Adaptive block size limit algorithm.

Adaptive Block Size

• Is this change confirmed as happening?

• Is it fair to say KimDotComs summary on this found here is a good summary of adaptive block size?

Security and decentralization

• I am having trouble remembering the exact details in 2017 but if I remember right the "argument" against increasing the block size was it would be to hard to run a full node (I think this includes storing the entire chain on your device) with the increase of block size and thus damper decentralization. Were there also any claims of security concerns?

• Correct me if I am wrong but a quick search says the entire BTC chain is 7gb and BCH chain is 200gb. What is the BSV chain?

• With adaptive block size... how will running a node be handled? My personal opinion is for good decentralization we should be able to store nodes on smart phones/laptops (I am open to hearing why this is not necessary). 200 gb sounds manageable, but 400 seems to be pushing it? Is the idea that the need for block size increases will gradually occur over time... while technological advances in storage also occur?

• If a network increase suddenly happens and adaptive block size increases the size of blocks... what if your system running a node does not have the space? The idea of not wasting infrastructure is great, but wouldn't you need it in these spike times?

• Are there any security arguments against this new protocol? Or baseless ones that have been debunked?

BCH/BSV

• Where are we with this fork? During the 2017 BTC/BCH fork, BCH was not even allowed to be mentioned positively in r/bitcoin without a ban. Is that the case for either of BCH/BSV here? If so, which one and why?

• Someone mentioned on X the other day there was talk of BCH/BSV sides working together? If I remember right it was a poll done here?

• What side of BCH/BSV fork did Craig Wright and Calvin follow/lead? and which did Ver? Not idolizing anyone, just curious.

I was wrong. It looks like the poll was done in r/bsv and was done by Roger Ver (If I remember right, memorydealers is him)? I think that answers my other question. Craig/Calvin must be BCH and Ver is BSV?
