New to Bitcoin

Hi guys I'm new to bitcoin, well...Ive wanted to invest for a while now but never bothered and im really kicking myself now, i looked when it was 13k per coin and we all know what its worth now. my question is whats the best way to invest is it as simple as setting up an account on the website and putting money in or am i missing something, also is there a best/better hard wallet to go for? any knowledge you guys can share would be greatly appreciated. tia
