Password recovery instructions

Hello, my friend has 11 of his 12 words. I want to help him get logged back into his account, my understanding is that the 11 words are positional which means it should be easy to figure out which position is missing. Can someone tell me or refer me to a web page which describes the process of brute Force Discovery of the missing word in his password. Thank you
