Phoenix Wallet ends business with U.S. customers.
| https://twitter.com/PhoenixWallet/status/1783878658014249027 Phoenix Wallet joins ranks of "Wallet of Satoshi" and also ends business with US based customers. I kinda liked Phoenix Wallet because it is an easy to use Lightning Wallet that is (mostly) non-custodial. Phoenix Wallet is run by a company called ACINQ, which runs one of the most popular Lightning Network nodes in the world. Phoenix Wallet is unique in that when you send BTC to a Phoenix Wallet address, ACINQ uses that bitcoin to create a Lightning Channel to your phone. But ALL lightning channels on Phoenix Wallet are with ACINQ, and ONLY ACINQ. ACINQ make money off every lightning transaction going through their wallet. I suspect that soon, many major Lightning Network nodes will start GeoIP restricting Lightning Network nodes preventing connections from US IP addresses. [link] [comments] |
