What are some people's ideas for passing on your bitcoin to your kids or grandchildren?

I think a great deal of btc will be lost during this process, I also wonder how protected your bitcoin is if you have a house fire?

My kids will recieve simple instructions for the coordinates of my buried treasure, which is on my rural land away from any possible future developments.
