The “Godfather of AI” says you should become a plumber. I think you should buy Bitcoin.
| Geoffrey Hinton (aka the Godfather of AI) went on Diary of a CEO and basically said “AI will wipe out a ton of jobs. My kids are fine because we’re rich. Everyone else? Become a plumber.” But here’s the deeper issue almost nobody talks about: AI should create massive productivity gains. Stuff should get cheaper. We should all benefit. But we won’t, because the fiat system won’t allow prices to fall. The Fed has a 2% inflation mandate. That means no matter how efficient AI becomes, they’ll just print more money to keep prices going up. So: • You lose your job to AI • You don’t share in the gains • And the rich get even richer from the asset inflation that follows My take? The real hedge isn’t a trade school. It’s owning a slice of the hardest money we’ve ever had. That’s how you capture a share of all deflationary productivity gains made by the humans and the robots. [link] [comments] |
