The halving makes Bitcoin harder to fork as time goes on

We are aware of the social aspects of forks.

But one thing to consider is that it becomes harder to fork any version of Bitcoin as the block rewards get smaller and smaller. When the security of the network becomes solely dependent on transaction activity then it will almost be impossible to fork any version of Bitcoin beyond some point. One chain will get the network effect and the other chain will probably die off.

There might be some ways around this, but it appears to be an extremely difficult problem for any forks after the next halving or two.
