To fellow mid-20s, heavily in Bitcoin — how are you planning to actually live in the future?
I’m looking for perspective from others in their mid-20s who have most of their net worth in Bitcoin.
I’m 25 and turning 26 next year. I’ve been investing heavily in Bitcoin since I was 20 while working a well-paying corporate 9–5. At this point, roughly ~75% of my net worth is in BTC, about 20% in 401k / IRA, and the rest is in cash for emergencies / liquidity (even though I don’t love holding fiat… but we still live in a fiat world).
I fully believe in Bitcoin long-term and plan to keep stacking regardless of price. That hasn’t changed. What has become confusing is the practical side of life.
I want normal things:
- a big house
- a nice car
- the ability to support a family and my passions
- put kids through college someday
- etc.
But with the “don’t sell your Bitcoin” mindset, I struggle to understand how people are actually planning to use their wealth.
So I’m curious:
- Do you plan to borrow against your BTC (collateralized loans)?
- Do you expect to sell portions when it reaches a certain level?
- Are you waiting until BTC appreciates enough to comfortably buy bigger things with it outright?
- Or are you just holding indefinitely and figuring it out later too?
Down payments for houses, large purchases, and everyday life still require fiat today.
I don’t have huge USD reserves because most of my wealth is in Bitcoin by design — but that makes me wonder how this realistically works without breaking the core thesis (don't sell your bitcoin).
I originally thought Bitcoin would give me freedom (and I still believe that long-term). But right now, in my 20s, it feels more like I’m hoarding something incredibly valuable without a clear plan for translating it into a life.
I’m NOT bearish, not doubting Bitcoin — just trying to hear how others with similar exposure are thinking about the future. What’s your plan?
Would really appreciate hearing different perspectives even if you aren't in your mid 20s and if you're older what would you tell your younger self. Thank you!
