Ultimate formula for a bitcoin retirement right now

Ultimate formula for a bitcoin retirement right now

I calculated a safe withdrawal rate for bitcoin using Monte Carlo and the past 10 years of weekly price data. From what I found is that you can withdraw 0.5% up to 0.75% of your stack value per week and recover your whole portfolio over many years.

With the bull and bear markets of bitcoin it is very important to find the right timing to get into the market, or, better: assume a lower bitcoin price for your calculations. I would suggest using the 4year moving average price, as can be found here in that chart: https://charts.bitbo.io/sma1458/ At the moment the price is at around 43k$.

So the number of bitcoin you currently need to retire is:

n_btc > weekly_expenses * 200 / 43000$

In other words:

number of bitcoin weekly expenses [$]
0.1 21.5
1 215.0
3 645.0
5 1075.0
10 2150.0
20 4300.0
50 10750.0

If you wanna know how much you need in X years to retire, use a floor price prediction in X years, for example: https://charts.bitbo.io/long-term-power-law/

Use at your own risk!
