Why is bitcoin not considered a “crypto” here?

Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question, I don’t mean to offend the community in any way.

I was looking at an old post and some people were downvoting someone for calling bitcoin “crypto” in a comment.

Is it because the word “crypto” has been associated with another part of the world of cryptocurrencies?
