Will Bitcoin ever be a currency? Right now it is "just" the best store of value ever.

Obviously, we need this. It's a huge deal so that central banks and governments can't steal our time.

But will it ever be used as a currency in any meaningful extremely widespread way? If so, what are your personal thoughts on the timeline for that?

I've been following Bitcoin for 8 years now and it does not seem to my pleb brain that we have made any progress towards currency status. In fact, it seems more and more like it's mainly a store of value and will forever stay that way.
